Start with the sand and a few of the included pieces. Invite your child to choose a figure, arrange a scene, or try an included tool. You don’t need a complete story planned—a question such as “What’s happening here?” can be a starting point.
Give a construction vehicle a little job, imagine an explorer’s discovery, or decide where a farm animal is going. Follow your child’s ideas and add a question or character of your own. The matching Play Guide offers more ideas when you want them.
Some sand can end up outside the tray during play, so allow for a little tidying afterwards. The tray provides a defined play area, but the kit isn’t mess-free.
The play ideas in this collection use dry sand and do not require added water. “Salamander Lagoon” is an imaginative theme name, not an instruction for water play. Follow the care instructions supplied with your kit.
